CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
A group for mostly over 45s. Activities include
dinner/dances, barbecues, cards, trips away

WALKING IN CANBERRA
Joining a regular walking program is a simple
and enjoyable way of life. During spring, walks
wills be conducted at 9.30am on Sunday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Walks are between one and two hours long.

LATVIAN DANCE WORKSHOP
Come and enjoy an afternoon learning Latvian
dances with Valdis Strazds and members of
the Sprigulitis Latvian Folk Dance Group. They
are a local group who have performed around
Australia and overseas, and last year
celebrated their 60th anniversary. A small
plate of afternoon tea to share would be
appreciated. Cost is $15 for non-members and

VIETNAM VETERANS AND
VETERANS FEDERATION ACT
The federation is network of accredited,
experienced, entitlements officers who advise
and support veterans who seek to understand
and apply for entitlements that are available to
them through the Department of Veterans
Veterans, particularly younger veterans from
operational deployments such as Iraq, East
Timor, Afghanistan, and the Solomon Islands,
are welcomed and are encouraged to make
use of the federation's advice and advocacy.

FUNDRAISING TRIVIA NIGHT
Gather some friends to attend a Trivia Night. All
funds raised go to the Communities@Work
social programs which help to empower people

GUNGAHLIN EVENING VIEW CLUB
The next meeting of the View Club is on

CANBERRA LUNG LIFE MEETING
A support group for people with chronic lung
disease and their carers. Meetings at
10.15am to noon at Burns Club, 8 Kett Street,

ANU OPEN SCHOOL OF MUSIC
The ANU Open School of Music offers
programs for ACT students in years 7 to 12
who have an interest in further developing their
musical skills in classical and jazz. There will
be tours, teacher talks and opportunities to
see classes and ensemble performances in
action, including a free concert showcasing

BELCONNEN AMNESTY GROUP
The Amnesty Group will be holding a meeting
on October 13. The speaker is Dr Ibi Losoncz,
an expert on South Sudanese refugee
settlement who has worked in Africa in refugee
camps. The group is also engaged in letter
writing and various other human rights

COUNTRY MUSIC CONCERT
The Country Music Association of Canberra &
Monaro District walk-up concert is on Friday,
October 10, at the Deakin Football Club
(behind the Shell Service Station Deakin)

WODEN VALLEY COMMUNITY
Come celebrate everything wonderful about

FRIENDLY GOSPEL CHOIR
The Gospel Folk is a friendly bunch of women

The Compassionate Friends ACT &
Queanbeyan is part of a world-wide family of
bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents
offering support, friendship and understanding
